About Us

The Green Balance UK Ltd developed out of a passion for UK woodland including all its inhabitants, with a wish to increase the overall amount of woodland in the UK. Developing further opportunities for more people to enjoy the relaxing benefits of being involved with nature. Establishing new areas of mainly broad leaf English woodland, will in turn produce many benefits for the environment including creation of new wildlife habitats. Although instinctively we may wish to plant these trees in our own garden, practicalities mean this is not always possible.

Aforestation such as this is establishing new woodland areas that have not previously been forested. This has a significant benefit to the environment as this type of land offers higher sequestration (absorption) of carbon than areas which have been woodland previously and are simply replanted.

Trees use energy from the sun to fuel photosynthesis, a process which converts water and carbon dioxide to carbohydrates and oxygen, helping naturally to reduce greenhouse gasses. These tree-planting programmes have many complementary benifits to wildlife, creating natural habitats and providing a place of relaxation and quiet contemplation for human visitors involved.

There is a lot of scope to increase the amount of woodland in the UK, which only accounts for 12% of land mass compared to the european average of 32%.

The Green Balance UK Ltd was founded by Sue & Matthew Leet who personally oversee the planting, management and maintenance of the tree planting programmes. Their dedication and empathy with the enviroment are ever increasing. As they are always looking for new ways to show their appreciation to the natural world and do their bit to preserve the world we all share together. Sue strives to promote well being in both animals and people, following from her complementary health background. Matthew is keen to understand more new technologies to enable us all to reduce our impact on the enviroment following his engineering background.
